SBG LLC provides strategic leadership for health care organizations faced with significant challenges.

Founder and President Sonia Bailey-Gibson describes her work this way: “Helping others to help themselves.”

Sonia has more than two decades of experience in providing health care service and management, and now offers her experience to help long-term and post-acute care providers faced with challenges.

She is especially helpful to those who find themselves in challenging positions such as regulatory, reorganizational restructuring or turnaround situations. Additionally, as recent as 2007, she has led startup enterprises, including the new West Virginia Veterans Nursing Home in Clarksburg, WV through its first year of operation.

Sonia holds a BA in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from West Virginia University.

Before founding SBG in 2008, Sonia worked in multiple states including West Virginia. for a publicly traded nursing home chain, Genesis Health Care Corp., where she was a Senior Vice President of Operations. There she led the operations for 30 to 60 nursing facilities, assisted living and retirement communities. Sonia came to Genesis through its acquisitions of The Multicare Companies, which previously had purchased Glenmark Associates. She has also led and assisted in building the institutional pharmacy, therapy, billing, mobile imaging and supply companies while employed with Glenmark and Multicare.

Her career also includes operating her own business, Health Consultants Plus, that still provides home- and community-based programs for the disabled and the elderly, nursing, social work and therapeutic recreation consulting as well as some interim management services. She also held director and management positions with VOCA Corp. of West Virginia, Northern Southwest Communities Mental Health/Retardation of Pittsburgh and Summit Center for Human Development in WV -- companies that provide home- and community-based services for people with mental retardation and mental illness.

She is a fellow and certified with the American College of Health Care Administrators and is a licensed nursing home administrator in West Virginia. She is past president of the West Virginia Health Care Association, and currently serves on the board of Hospice Care Corp. and Advisory Board for BB&T and West Virginia University’s College of Business and Economics. She also is a board member for the WV Nursing Home Administrator's Licensing Board. Appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate in 2008. She serves her profession through several trade and professional groups and has been recognized with several awards and serves in various community positions.

Sonia was recognized as an up and coming business professional by the WV Executive Magazine in their 2000 Young Gun Series.
